About the project

The Duel is a synthetic creative project combining a tour program and theatrical action staged in the natural scenery of Chekhov's estate. You will enjoy a few unforgettable hours as personal guests of Anton Chekhov in his beloved Melikhovo.

PROGRAM:

  • 15.00 – a tour of A. P. Chekhov Museum-Reserve
  • 16.30 – coffee break
  • 17.00 - performance The Duel (Director ~ Vladimir Baicher scene-designer ~ Yefim Ruach).
The performance consists of two parts. The first action will take place on a pond "Aquarium" just in front of the windows of Chekhov's house. The seats for the audience are arranged right on the bank of the pond. Special pontoons carrying main scenic objects will make up a sort of a floating stage arranged along the opposite bank of the pond.
